PTT-100 22 gram Solar Argos/GPS PTT
Our introduction of solar Argos/GPS transmitters in 2001 revolutionized the field of satellite tracking of birds. Our first GPS enhanced PTT, weighing in at 70g, heralded the tracking of large birds with GPS accuracy worldwide. Since then, we have continually developed this technology through five generations of Argos/GPS PTTs, resulting in our 45 and 30g versions. This latest version, weighing a mere 22 grams, continues this evolution. It retains the features of the larger versions but is programmed with our latest firmware which records location in 2D only; this saves power and allows more data to be carried in each Argos message. Packing more locations into a single Argos message increases the chances of receiving full data sets in areas of radio interference with the satellite, e.g., Europe.
