Conventional battery powered or solar powered PTTs flag activation of mortality mode Ground Track in the engineering frame of the data. The fourth channel (“Season”) value will increase by 8 if mortality mode Ground Track is running. (This will be more obvious in your DS format data.)
Argos/GPS PTTs flag the activation of mortality mode Ground Track in the “mortality mode GT column” of the engineering output file (*e.txt) of the parsed data.
