Microwave Telemetry PTT FAQs
- How do I place an order?
- What is the lifetime of
my battery powered transmitter?
Transmitter lifetime is dependent upon many factors.
The transmission lifetime (the time for which the unit would continuously transmit) is shown on each data sheet is for the PTT fitted with standard batteries operating in a temperate climate. In a tropical climate, expect a shorter lifetime. Conversely, in an Arctic climate, expect a longer lifetime.
Use of Ground Track™ in a seasonal mode will shorten overall PTT lifetime as it draws power from the PTT battery.
Our 95g PTT can be supplied with our Lix2™ power supply. In most cases, this effectively doubles the transmission lifetime. Please consult us about the applicability of this power supply for your project.
However, the overall operating lifetime is dependent on the chosen duty cycle as well as the transmission lifetime.
