Getting Started

Follow these steps to place an order for MTI transmitters.

1 Consider which device is best for your study.
Review our information on choosing an avian transmitter or choosing a fish tag for tips on selecting an appropriate device for your project. If you would like assistance, we are always happy to help.
2 Contact us to discuss your project and our production schedule.
Our production schedule fills up quickly; please anticipate a 10-week minimum lead time (12 weeks for Solar 5g PTT, Solar 2g PTT, and pop-up satellite archival tags [PSATs]). Advance notice helps us to better accommodate your timeline. To reserve a space on our production schedule, you must submit a Production Form and official order commitment (Purchase Order, signed MTI Sales Agreement, official letter of intent) or prepayment before we can begin production (details in Step 4).
3 Set up an Argos account and request your Argos ID numbers.
If you plan to use Argos satellite transmitters (Solar PTTs, Solar Argos/GPS PTTs, Battery Powered PTTs, Implantable PTTs, or Pop-up Satellite Archival Tags), you will need an Argos account, and an Argos-assigned identification number for each transmitter. You will need this information to complete your Production Form.
To set up your Argos account and request ID numbers, visit the Argos website.
4 Submit a Production Form and order commitment.
Production Forms detail the specifics of each transmitter order and must be submitted at least 10 weeks prior to your requested delivery date. Access our online Production Portal.
5 For GPS/GSM 20-70 Transmitters, complete and return a Data Distribution Agreement.
We must have a signed and completed Data Distribution Agreement (DDA) before we can ship your transmitters. Login to your MTI account to access the DDA.
